Yet more evidence that when your mind is getting as cluttered as your desk, it's time to change tack. Putting pen to paper without any intention is proving again and again to be fruitful.
Wandering Minds Rediscover the Good Stuff
So maintaining the momentum with regards to letting the mind wander seems to be working. This reaction to long train journeys and days dedicated to the tax return is a positive one. Ideas I'd forgotten about are bubbling to the surface.
Play at Work
I'm a firm believer that letting your mind wander and your fingers play are of great benefit to productivity and creativity. I've been guilty of letting that slide towards the end of last year. So these little studies will be on the wall of my studio throughout 2016 to remind me of the importance of play. I hope you all take some time to allow the awe and inspiration in during 2016 and watch the creativity flow. Happy New Year.
Kinetica
There was some great work to be seen at Kinetica this year, hosted at The Hospital Club. With some insightful lectures and intriguing work it's no wonder there has been a fair amount of model making in the studio of late. There are still a few pieces on show if you're in the mood for some interactive art.
Salisbury Ceramics Open
The Salisbury Ceramics Open is on until Saturday 14th November. So if you haven't seen it there's still time. With such a broad range of work in such a beautiful setting it is well worth setting aside an hour or so to soak it all up. If you happen to have the pleasure, don't forget to vote for your favourite piece which will recieve a prize at the end of the exhibition (hut hum!).

'Ice' at the Salisbury Ceramics Open.
I ventured down to the Salisbury Arts Centre on a glorious autumnal day yesterday to install 'Ice' as part of the Salisbury Ceramics Open. The private view is this thursday from 6pm. It would be great to see you there but in the meantime here are some behind the scenes photos from the installation. What an amazing venue. For more details click here.

Contemplation of Landscape
An afternoon full of contemplation and the restorative powers of the landscape as a meditative tool...... One of the most relaxing applications in recents weeks. Thinking, feeling and writing while revisiting 'The Breath Beneath'.
Fractured Land progress
I'm getting ever closer to having processed all of these photos. Soon I'll be able to get stuck into the video. #photography #landscape #refraction #distortion #light #perception

This project is a collaboration with musician Gwyneth Herbert in which music, art and science come together. In direct response to Gwyneth’s album, developed during an artist residency for Aldeburgh Music, I explored the science of cymatics as a live, interactive performance. The project was a symbiotic blend of time lapse photography, video and sound responsive kinetic works. The core of the visuals were created by using the live double bass feed to vibrate liquids, powders and a combination of materials.
