This is Dark, This is Darker, This is Darker Still
This drawing is a study from the collaboration with the Ordered Universe project (click here for more information on the project). It is in response to the medieval text De Colore by Bishop Robert Grosseteste (c.1170-1253), in which he describes the notion of colour. This study explores the additive quality of shadows and depicts the plans for a prosed kinetic shadow sculpture whereby moving obstructions turn in front of fixed lights to produce an ever-changing 'corridor' of additive shadows.
